The Legal stuff you need to add to your website

I know its boooorring, but much like flossing, you need to do it!

Any business with a website - even a site that isn’t actually selling goods or services - must include certain details in order to abide by the Electronic Commerce Regulations.

Website legal documents explain things such as: Who owns site content, choice of legal location, what happens in case of a refund, details on shipping, warranty info and more.

I’ve had various types of legal documents on my websites over the years, however it took a while to find the perfect solution - Termly. A fabulous compliance solution for small businesses, including a:

  • Privacy Policy Generator

  • Terms and Conditions Generator

  • Disclaimer Generator

  • Return Policy Generator

  • Cookie Consent Manager

I use the paid-for version - as any legal updates are automatically integrated into my policy documents by Termly - however there’s a free version, which I was really impressed with too, but you can only create one policy for free.

Click on the affiliate advert to find out more. It really saves you time and you’ll know your site is compliant!

Data and Information:

If you hold other people’s information/data you need to also purchase a data protection certificate from the Information Comissioner’s Office (ICO). Find out about your obligations and how to comply, including protecting personal information, and providing access to official information here.
