Luxury business card design for Octavius Group
Luxury was the name of the game with these business cards - but the journey wasn’t without its pitfalls …
Dynamic recruitment firm Octavius wanted some new business cards now that they were back having face-to-face meetings. We approached the different parts of the business with different solutions.
The Finance Division wanted a luxury b.card, and so we researched some incredible card stocks and chose a combination that really elevated the simplicity of their cards. A duplex of deep indigo and ivory bonded together, plus a warm gold foil and embossing to really make the logo stand out.
The Renewables Division wanted something that fitted their brand values and so each team member had a one-off bamboo card with NFC tech, so they can tap their card on someone’s phone and instantly transmit their details.
The NFC cards were a great solution, as employees could digitally update their cards to reflect promotions, and even tailor the contact details to suit specific events.
The printed cards weren’t as straightforward - the artwork was signed off, sent to the printer and ready to go, but owing to the various supply chain issues we are all facing at the moment, the indigo coloured stock was stuck in France, and was going to take a couple of months to arrive! - (Octavius waited patiently), then - happy days! - the stock was in the UK and we could push the button on the print!
Now in the mean time, a couple of people had joined the firm or been promoted, so new artwork was submitted, but when Octavius received their new cards - the old artwork had been printed! Arrrgh! Back to a waiting game for new stock, which luckily the printers moved heaven and earth to source and it arrived a couple of weeks later, and the correct cards were finally printed.
Now mistakes do happen, but extremely rarely with the printers I used (and have done for over 20 years), and they were communicative and quick to solve the issue. Most importantly, Octavius love their new cards, and so do I!
